Before the first line drawing
Gather the information below for a specific site and a specific operating route. Leave unknown fields marked for review. A written assumption is more useful than a machine layout based on an unconfirmed building or slaughter method.
Site and permission
- Country, exact locality, land/building use and the party managing permits.
- Competent veterinary/welfare contacts and the relevant food/environmental review path.
- For halal: appointed recognized certifier, destination market and proposed segregation scope.
Animals and production
- Sheep, goats or a defined mix, including the expected animal-size range.
- Normal arrival and processing pattern, any seasonal demand and intended product route.
- Selected halal or conventional method, with any stunning decision requiring review.
Building and mechanical interfaces
- Dimensioned floor plan, clear heights, supports, floor levels and doorway positions.
- Rail/hook arrangement, operator access and receiving-to-chilling route.
- Retained equipment and measured handoffs for an existing facility.
Services and hygiene
- Electrical and water availability, sanitation and cleaning responsibilities.
- Collection of blood, skins, offal and waste, with the proposed wastewater route.
- Cold rooms, refrigeration and dispatch scope, assigned to named project parties.
Review and handover
- Process drawing, equipment schedule and unresolved assumptions.
- Approval/certification documents the local reviewers require.
- Installation, training, documentation and acceptance responsibilities to agree.
