Non-halal sheep and goat abattoir design and equipment solution

Plan non-halal sheep and goat abattoir equipment around the accepted method, building, handling, inspection, cold-room interfaces and purchasing scope.

Turn your new-facility requirement into an equipment scope

Use this solution when you are preparing a new non-halal sheep or goat abattoir and need a conventional process and equipment arrangement matched to the proposed building. First confirm that the country and local competent authorities accept the intended operation. Then connect handling and welfare controls with hygienic dressing, veterinary release and the cold-room route.

Review the line as connected purchase packages

Group the hoisting and bleeding interfaces, skin-preparation positions, selected dehider, rehanging/evisceration interfaces and inspection work positions around one measured rail route. Finish by resolving the chilling transfer with the party supplying the cold room.

What the equipment proposal should make reviewable

Purchase outputWhat to check
Process and layout basisSelected non-halal conventional route, animal range, building geometry and outstanding assumptions.
Equipment scheduleSupplied machines/work positions, quantities to agree, hanging/rail components and both transfer ends.
Interface responsibilitiesLocal works, utilities, drainage, sanitation, refrigeration and the parties responsible for them.
Delivery and acceptance scopeAgreed drawings/documentation, installation responsibilities and checks against the approved supply scope.

Use the same boundary when comparing quotations. Ask the supplier and project team to identify inclusions, exclusions and decisions still awaiting site or authority review.

Compare project and installation references with this purchase

Use project and installation references to compare the documented animal type, equipment section, site interfaces and reported status with your new non-halal conventional sheep/goat facility brief. Check what the available photographs or records establish, then carry the differences into your own equipment brief.

  • Identify the sheep/goat scope and the operating route recorded for the reference.
  • Match the supplied section and building constraints to your proposed equipment boundary.
  • Check the documented delivery status and the date/scope of the evidence before interpreting an equipment photograph as an installed result.
  • Carry differences in animal supply, utilities, veterinary review and any halal requirements into your own proposal.

Review project and installation references

Design scenarios help organize unknown requirements; their labels distinguish them from delivered-project records.

Send the inputs that allow a useful proposal

  • Country/locality, site status and the proposed animal/product scope.
  • Building plan, measured geometry and available utilities.
  • Competent veterinary/welfare contacts and the intended conventional method.
  • Owner’s intended operating pattern and separately defined cold-chain requirement.
  • Responsibilities for local works, installation and documentation/acceptance checks.

Confirm this route for the proposed country

The route above is a project sequence to review, not proof that every country accepts the same method or shared facility arrangement.

Malaysia

Confirm the admissible conventional route with State DVS and local authorities. A non-halal website route does not bypass ruminant operating conditions.

The DVS operating-licence packet for ruminants includes halal slaughterer authorization. Ask State DVS whether the proposed non-halal sheep/goat operation is admissible at this site before selecting equipment. Personnel authorization and premises halal certification are different decisions. DVS private slaughterhouse build application and checklist (Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia; PDF page 3, checklist items 1–11).

Indonesia

Ask how the proposed product and slaughter method are licensed and labelled under JPH. Do not treat a conventional route as a blanket exemption.

The statutory halal/non-halal separation covers locations, work areas and equipment. A shared line changed between shifts is not presumed compliant. Agree the actual small-ruminant facility, product classification and physical boundaries with the applicable veterinary and JPH reviewers. Government Regulation No. 42 of 2024 on Halal Product Assurance (Government of Indonesia / BPJPH; Articles 6–9, 196–198; PDF pages 4–6 and 73–74).

Kazakhstan

Prepare the proposed restraint, slaughter and product route for veterinary, food-safety and environmental review without making a halal conformity claim.

Uzbekistan

Plan the conventional operation through the same applicable veterinary, building and environmental reviews; do not add a halal label without supporting conformity.

Boundary for this route

  • The proposed country must accept the operating method and product route before procurement.
  • Malaysia's ruminant operating packet has slaughterer halal-authorization conditions; the conventional option is not automatically available there.
  • Indonesia JPH classification, labelling and separation require explicit review; a conventional label is not a blanket exemption.
  • Veterinary inspection, welfare and controlled held/rejected-material routes remain part of the plan.
